Bass Clean Up

Nice result from clean up and service of this ESP Ltd Bass. Sounding smooth again after fret nicks gently filed out, neck scrubbed clean and given the lemon oil treatment, machine heads removed and polished up, bodywork cleaned and buffed to a nice shine, and new RotoSound 44 Bronze bass strings added!

Bespoke Nut Build

Making a bespoke nut with unbleached bone for a left handed Yamaha  FG400A, very satisfying! Originally right-handed, but converted to left-handed at some point in its life. With new Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings, a full Notebook Acoustic setup and its first proper clean in years, it roared back to life! Good to hear!

12 String Refurb

A beautiful big old Hokada 12 string series 3136 circa 1974. Came to me with no strings, no nut, no bridge saddle, and alot of scars betraying its 50 years. After alot of Notebook Acoustic TLC, really happy with how this cleaned up!

Custom nut and bridge saddle made and nice new D'addario light guage 10's added. Notice the adjustable bridge that the saddle fits in, and how the machine heads cleaned up so well!

Bridge Lift Repair

Oops! A beautiful sunburst Tanglewood TSF CE, but with bridge lift! It had to come off! So warmed the bridge with an iron, to soften the wood fibres, and then prised the bridge off with palate knives. Lots of work to prepare the surface for re-bonding, including some nail biting chiselling so close to the sunburst finish of the beautiful spruce top!

Cleaned, glued and clamped the restored bridge, before a Notebook Acoustic restring and setup got it sounding amazing and beautiful once again!

Spanish Bodywork

This one was a labour of love! A Juan Estruch spanish guitar sadly showing many signs of its 50 years! But with a new bespoke nut, restored machine heads, stripped back spruce top restored only with Gun Stock Tru-Oil, new Augustine Classic strings and the all important Notebook Acoustic Setup, it is sounding so sweet once again!

French Neck Repair

This lovely LAG Tramontane T270ASCE was suffering a little, with a cracked and twisted neck after being dropped, making it unplayable!

Over many days, the neck was restored, broken tuning pegs replaced, faulty hybrid electrics repaired, and new Elixir nanaweb Bronze strings added before the finishing touch, the all important Notebook Acoustic setup!

On this little French designed guitar I loved the satin finished Auditorium cutaway slim body, the solid spruce top, snakewood back and sides and Fishman INK3 electronics!

Good to hear it sounding great once again!

Fret Levelling

Fret levelling my old and much loved Tanglewood SF-5. What a difference, so much easier to move around the fretboard now! Massive credit to my Luthier tutor Ashley Nightingale who walked me through this one!

Maestro TLC

A Maestro MA41, by Gibson. Yes, just a little chinese beginners guitar but singing again after some much needed TLC, new D'Addario EJ16 light guage strings, and a full Notebook Acoustic setup!

Bespoke Saddle Build

Making a bespoke bridge saddle for my much played leftie cedar and mahogany Tanglewood TW 145 SC. Using unbleached Indian cow bone, finely polished, with attention to the ridge line to optimize intonation. Sounding good again with new Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings!

Pickup Replacement

My mate Stevie T.  borrowed my worskshop space and tools to do his own setup on this very beautiful Merida Extrema GACE Koa Electro Acoustic. I also lent a hand replacing the pickup and doing some audio wiring repairs. Glad to be of help Stevie T!

Martin Puzzle Solved

So pleased to return this beautiful X series GPC-X2e Martin electro-acoustic to its tuneful glory once again! All sorts going on with neck relief, saddle height and uneven frets had made this beautiful guitar virtually unplayable, with super high action. But all good now, after a meticulous Notebook Acoustic setup. Look at that stunning Sapele top and Ziricote back and sides! A pleasure to work on guitars like this!
